R4 Sdhc Dual Core 2018 Firmware

I bought the one w/o a 4GB SD card. I tried Mario Kart and Sonic & SEGA All Star Racing and it plays them fine.

I had to format a SD card, unrar the KERNEL files downloaded from to the root of the SD and put the.NDS roms onto it. The R4iDC is recognized as “Spongebob Squarepants”. I used KERNEL file “r4isdhc-whiteEnglish1.38.rar”. It contains one folder (rpg) and one file (DSMENU.dat). That’s just it.

Put the MicroSD in the R4. Put the R4 in the NDS. Power up the NDS. Select and start Spongebob. The R4 app is started and in the next menu select games. Select the game and start it.

R4i Sdhc Firmware

Have FUN!Cons:I tried it on my 3DS v1.1.0-0E. It doesn’t use the full width of the upper screen. For NDS roms that’s not so much a problem because they would only be stretched. Two or three lines at the bottom of both the upper and lower screen are repeated/doubled in Mario Kart.

Sonic & SEGA played perfect. No documentation is supplied. The USB dongle contains a reference to, but download links are down. The package has printed on it. That’s the site where I found software to get a working flashcard. But as flashcards are new to me I had a hard time (two days) figuring out what to do.Other Thoughts:The software to run rom files or homebrew is called KERNEL. A FIRMWARE update is only needed when your flashcard isn’t working anymore because your console is updated.

Kernel 1.38 does not contain moonshell to play video’s. Because I was under the impression it should play video via moonshell as well I tried to add moonshell to it. The kernel files only offered me to play roms. I noticed the firmware package contained a moonshell folder. At the time I did not know the difference between kernel and firmware and how a firmware update uses some of the homebrew apps. This gave me a “Loading” screen for ever. Fortunately formatting the SD gave me a working flashcard again.

Next I copied a “moonshl2” folder from a R4iRTS-Lite kernel to the SD. When trying to start moonshell I received a bunch of errors and ever since the complete flashcard isn’t recognized anymore. No Spongebob in the menu, but the error message “No game card inserted”.

It seems I now broke the R4.Time of Ownership:1 day – 1 weekInvolvement Level:Novice (still getting used to it)Price Rating: 5Ease-of-use Rating: 4Build Quality Rating: 3Usefulness Rating: 4Overall Rating: 4(rating = worse 1 – 5 best)Bottomline:Buy it if you only want to play.nds roms. It’s one of the cheapest around which is upgradeable. If you want more like movies and music try another flashcard. For just games though it’s perfect and if you now how, super easy!
